HIS Craftsmanship :: Since 2015

Metal, Body, and Paint

Many of our customers can do all the mechanical work themselves but want us to help with the paint work.  You can bring us a roller and we will do our magic to make the outside look great and you can do the rest.

We will do as much or as little as you want.

Full Restorations

If you want turn-key service, we can do that as well.  Just bring us your vehicle and we will document the integrity of the disassembly, inventory of parts, metal, body and paint repair with hundreds of pictures.

"Simple" Paint Jobs

There really is no such thing as a "simple" paint job.  If it's a color change or even just a repaint of the same color, all the bumpers, trim, mirrors, emblems, and any rubber that meets the paint must be removed.  Taping around those parts is time-consuming, and looks like junk.  We don't do junk work.

Collision Repair

We do work on classic cars that have been in an accident.  We will work with your insurance company to get your classic back on the road.

What We Don't Do

  • We don't let your car sit in the shop while we do collision work.
  • We don't cut corners or do junk work.  If you don't want it done with quality and integrity, don't bring it to us.

What To Expect

  • When you bring us your car, we begin working on it immediately.  We are a full-time restoration shop, not a collision shop, and will get your car done in a timely manner.
  • We will work on it continuously until it is in final primer.  We then let it sit for a month so all the materials can shrink which ensures your car looks beautiful for years to come.
  • We also let it set for two weeks after paint to fully cure.

Our Restoration Process

  • Thoroughly wash and degrease car.
  • Disassemble car and inventory all parts which need to be replaced or restored.  We take lots of pictures.
  • Strip car of all paint and body filler to assess the condition of all metal.
  • Epoxy primer or apply a zinc coating to all bare metal.
  • Repair all rusty metal.  If replacement parts are available we will use them.  We also have the ability to make some metal parts that are not remanufactured.
  • Adjust all panels to make them flush and set all gaps to 3/16".
  • Body work all exterior panels.
  • Primer and sand all body worked parts.  The process of sanding and priming may take 2 or 3 times.
  • Paint entire car and all parts.
  • Cut and buff to perfection.
  • Assemble car.
